“Our power is showing ever more and I love it”

I just watched “The Woman King” and truly I cried… It makes me so fucking happy to see our people portrayed as the strong beautiful kings and warriors we were and are. To see us united and strong even if just in a movie makes me feel so good. Viola Davis is an irrefutable queen as with all the black women who gave such beautiful performances. This movie inspires me. That black people will one day end our own oppression and self oppression and suffering. That day will come soon I know it. Blackness should be celebrated and adorned, it should be revered and feared, loved and embraced, and our power is showing ever more and I love it. I pray that we push for growth and us and our people.

It makes me reflect, currently California is trying to push $320k to black residents as reparations. Now, at first I felt just insulted, where natives get land and monthly stipends, we’re allotted just what seems like scraps, especially when this society has kept us down and oppressed for so long and indoctrinated into loving wealth and money, not giving us the path to growing real generational prosperity but rather saying “hey give these monkeys some bananas and watch them go apeshit” then I thought, well you know, that’s what they think that’s what they expect. They see us squandering it and taking a selfish approach “taking care of me and mine” as capitalism tells us.

However, I had another thought: if each resident puts in $10k to a mutual fund in Cali, we could buy communities, and hospitals and businesses etc. I’m not a capitalist at all and I don’t believe in fighting capitalism with more capitalism but this would be some sort of leg up some sort of start towards change not just for our people but for the class, a class revolution. I mean, if they give us that capital, we can inculcate our people and the youth in general into the right direction. We can unify. I just wish there was a way to get people to be like, woah before we blow this money let’s pool some of it in a fund and grow generational wealth and freedom and work towards a future we want to see rather than staying in this rat race. Rather than letting these “leaders” lead us to out doom. This Willy Lynch Syndrome and Jim Crow shit has to stop with this generation. We have to break the chains of this learned helplessness, you know?
